Program Specialist – Training Coordinator

PROGRAM:        Center for Emergency Preparedness and Response

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates all activities related to training Department of Health staff in emergency preparedness and
response, including, but not limited to, NIMS, ICS, and other
disaster-related training.  Maintains training
records through the learning
management system. Administers new staff skill surveys and maintains
rosters of
individuals eligible to fill specified roles in ICS. Hosts and advertises emergency preparedness
satellite broadcasts. Coordinates the Training and Exercise plan for the
Department of Health and hospitals
with the Exercise Coordinator to ensure that all
federal grant requirements are met. Requires participation
in 24/7/365 on-call
coverage schedule for CEPR and participation in drills/exercises and real-life responses,
which may occur on nights, weekends, and holidays.
   
Interagency Impact: Supports statewide emergency preparedness activities in coordination with Rhode
Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA) and other
municipal Emergency Management Agencies
under the state Emergency Operations
Plan.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:  Bachelors degree from a college of recognized standing.
Experience:  Employment in a professional position requiring strong program and administrative
management skills, preferably in the field of public health.
Any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially similar to the above education and
experience.

Required Skills:
Candidate must be detail-oriented, an effective oral and written communicator, and have a high level of
computer knowledge.  Candidate must also be able to assist with
multiple projects/deadlines and work with
various programs in the Department.  
Candidate must be willing to travel for program related conferences,
workshops and
meetings.

COMPENSATION:

Health Analyst III – Exercise Coordinator
PROGRAM:        Center for Emergency Preparedness and Response
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:
The Rhode Island Department of Health is seeking an Exercise Coordinator to work as part of the Center for Emergency
Preparedness and Response (CEPR) to accomplish drill and exercise program requirements for public health preparedness in
accordance with the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).  This position will be responsible for
developing, conducting, and evaluating drills and exercises related to public health emergency preparedness and response
efforts; recommending improvements (policy, infrastructure, training and equipment) pursuant to lessons learned through drills
and exercises; integrating drills/exercises into Rhode Island’s 3-Year Training and Exercise Plan; compiling reports using
collected data in a manner consistent with federal/state guidelines; maintaining effective working relationships with state and
local leaders and responders; planning and project management; developing and tracking budgets and expenditures for all
exercises, providing leadership in the development and implementation of blended learning/delivery methodologies for
responder education. Requires participation in 24/7/365 on-call coverage schedule for CEPR and participation in drills/exercises
and real-life responses, which may occur on nights, weekends, and holidays.

COMPENSATION:
   Rate of Pay:  $29.82 per hour
   Position Type:  Full-time; 35 hours/week (no benefits or paid time off



Dietitian
To consult and assist in the food preparation and service program; to provide consultations in the instruction
and oversight of subordinates engaged in preparing and serving food; to assist in checking for adherence to
nutritional and sanitary standards as well as in the preparation of theraputic diets in accordance with medical
prescriptions; to assist in the requisitioning od food and supplies in keeping with food inventories,
consumptions and waste reports and other reports as required; to consult staff about patients relative to
nutrition/dietary needs; and to do related work as required.

Education: Such as may have been gained through: Graduation from a college of recognized standing with
specilaization in nutrition and dietetics

Experience: Experience as a deitary consultant in a public or private hospital , rehabilitation center or institution.
